Challenge

A major pharmaceutical company had consolidated therapeutic area medical writers into a single department to optimize and standardize the creation of post- Phase IIb clinical trial primary research papers for submission to peer-reviewed medical journals. The department needed a project management process to predict, plan, and measure departmental effectiveness.

Solution

A Pentico consultant established a Publication Breakdown Structure, formalized the workflow process and measurement milestones, prepared a database functional specification, published initial performance metric reports, and helped the client qualify a permanent departmental hire.
